Kimberly StarKey, also known as The Rogue PIanist, is a multi award-winning classically trained contemporary pianist, composer, and piano teacher born and raised in Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley. Her musical style can be described as powerful, radiant, and inspiring. Rooted in both romantic-classical and contemporary styles, her debut album of original piano compositions Dream was nominated for Album of the Year in 2014 by Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, and her composition Ascension was nominated at the 2016 Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Her composition Approach to the Inmost Cave was signed by Warner Chappell Music, a subsidiary company of Warner Bros. and won Best Original Composition, Best Instrumental Music at the 2023 Lit Talent Awards. She won two titles of Best Composer, and her Composition Symphony of Angels won Best Original Composition at the Lit Talent Awards.

Kimberly co-wrote a contemporary double piano concerto named The Fire Within, the title track of Jennifer Thomas' album The Fire Within which debuted in the Billboard classical music charts at number 3, at number 2 in the classical crossover music charts. The piece won Classical Song of the Year in 2020 at the International Music and Entertainment Awards. Kimberly and her original music have been featured in 7 music videos including Pride and Prejudice, a Spoken Word piece by J.ournal awarded Best Music Video by the LA Independent Film Festival in 2019.

Kimberly's latest projects include co-composing a 2 piano rendition of Flight of the Bumblebee from Jennifer Thomas' Billboard charting album, Classical Reimagined, Vol. 1, available on streaming platforms worldwide, as well as the recent release of her unique instrumental rendition of the Christmas classic What Child is This, in collaboration with J.ournal.

She recently moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she launched Keys Unleashed Academy, an online-based program that teaches adults and children of all levels to improvise and compose beautiful music by developing internal music maps, cultivating practical skills, concepts and techniques, and honoring each student's innate creativity and individual expression, while nurturing the culture of new instrumental music to be authentic, innovative, and alive.
